I am proud young Dad of four, Sales manager keen motorsport fan and fast becoming an adventure race fan, I’m married to Aisling and a doting father to my young family. Life is great and I look forward to every day and the challenges that come with it,
Originally from a Slieverue in south Killkenny, I’m the oldest of 5 children to Phil and Linda. two wonderful parents, In my school days I became a involved in running and quickly became competitive in cross country running. In my later teens I got involved in rallying and my running was left to the side.
In 2007 a twitch in my eye lead to the diagnosis of MS ( multiple sclerosis ) which has lead me to where I am today a passionate MS awareness campaigner, I’m the creator and inspiration behind “Run With Liam” a mission to raise awareness to the benefits of exercise.
I believe with encouragement attitude and a strong mind that anything and everything is absolutely possible.
My Training Week
Training is going well considering I have MS. Starting to pick the pace now. Following a training plan that Avril Copeland has done up.
Getting up at 6am for a short 3km run in the mornings you can tell the winter is starting to come in because the last few mornings have been very cold. My week is broken down into bike one day, run the next. I’m getting over an hour out on the bike in the evenings, covering approximately 26 km with one or two good hills. Running evenings with 5 km covered with a lot hills mixed in.
Monday and Friday are my rest days. Sunday is my trail running day, it’s the day I enjoy the most and I cover approximately 4-5 km. This week I will fit in some transition training from run to bike. I have my little transition area set up and ready to go.
I wish you all the best in your training and look forward to see you all in October.
