The Big Day is here!
All the training, dedication and hard work will pay off next weekend as over 2,400 runners and walkers from all over the country will line up for Run Killarney which promises to be the World’s Most Beautiful Road Race!
The week leading up to the race should be spent doing a few short runs with some ‘race pace’ thrown in (don’t forget to warm up and cool down!) some light stretching and some nice relaxing rest days. This should see you fully prepared and fighting fit to take on this magnificent race. I hope you’ve all enjoyed this blog and have used some of these tips, for that, I thank you all so much. You can now all look forward to a fantastic run and giant pat on the back at the end along with the cool medal and t-shirt for 2017!
Killarney and its surroundings will offer the backdrop to an inspiring route which includes Molls Gap, Ladies View, Muckross House, Torc Waterfall and Killarney National Park. We would like to wish all competitors the very best of luck and we’ll look forward to seeing you all bright and early next Saturday morning. Remember let’s run for those who can’t.
